Head of School Message

As we move into April, there is a renewed sense of energy across our school. The days are getting longer, the pace of learning is picking up again after March Break, and there is a feeling of excitement—both here at school and beyond our world.

One inspiring example comes from the upcoming Artemis II mission. This historic launch represents the next step in returning humans to the Moon and reminds us of the power of curiosity, perseverance, and innovation. It’s a wonderful opportunity to engage students in conversations about science, exploration, and the limitless possibilities of their future. As the voyage progresses continue the conversations with your child about the importance and significance of this event.

At the same time, we are approaching the Easter long weekend. This is a meaningful time for many in our community and an opportunity for all of us to pause, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. Easter offers a meaningful opportunity for individuals to reflect on themes of renewal, hope, and purpose, encouraging a deeper sense of spiritual awareness and connection. It can inspire moments of gratitude, compassion, and personal growth, regardless of one’s individual beliefs.

Whether you are celebrating or simply enjoying a few quieter days, we hope the break provides rest and renewal for everyone.

Of course, this time of year also brings with it some very unpredictable spring weather. One day may feel like winter, and the next like early summer—a true reminder of the changing seasons. We encourage students to come prepared each day, dressed for varying conditions, and to take advantage of outdoor time whenever possible.

Wishing all of our Laureate families a wonderful long weekend ahead.

Junior School Update

Elementary classes enjoyed an entertaining week.  From following the lead up and launch of the historic Artemis II, to April Fool’s Day, and some Easter fun. Oh, do not worry it was not all fun and games. Teachers challenged the students with the grades 3/4 balancing equations and learning about stability in building and gears; grades 5/6 started their measurement unit and went through some lead up activities to be ready for their novel study; and the grades 7/8 dove into fractions and learning proper writing format.

With winter behind us we will go back to end of day pick up at the back of the school.  We will use the “Rainy Day” pick up spot.  We will start this on Monday April 13th and cones and teachers in high-vis vests will be there to help you know where to pick up.

Reminders

- Please remember to have outdoor shoes and jackets for our recesses as our spring weather is very unpredictable.

- There are no classes On Monday April 6th. School is closed.
